Subject: A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Written By: Dumb Ass Kid on 10/25/05 at 4:44 pm

From the time you've been here at InThe00s... what have been your happiest memories / funniest posts? No negative stuff here!

It's amazing how reading old posts and threads can cheer you up! Try it!

I've already kicked things off by reviving the old Robocop-esque "What Is In Me Head!" thread... what are your fondest memories of this board?

To start off: What was your first ever post in this forum?

Mine was:

I'm currently having problems with this kid called Josh2. I gave him a bit of constructive criticism (and a 333) and he lost his temper with me, started telling me to kiss his ass and has given no less than 4 of my songs 111. What should I do?

As you can probablies guess, it was in the AmIRight section. Posted March 31st 2005 at 1:40pm

I, of course, enjoyed the gay/ghey argument--that was priceless (But that's negative, isn't it?). I thought it was funny when everyone was changing their names to "Rubixgirl"....But my favorite was the "Alyssa/Apricot" controversy...that was hilarious.

AND the "Anyone got any money" thread was REALLY funny too.  ;D

Any links for that? because I can remember one of the very first things anyone ever saying to me in the PPP was "Apricot?" after I posted my photo!  ;D

I've enjoyed certain moments on here. I found many funny posts made by Howard that put me (and the rest) in shock and awe. I've enjoyed learning new songs and information from other members and getting a different perspective on certain issues.

Was this your first ever post here back in July?

Remember the time before 16 and 18 Multi-Plex movie houses? Remember when you could go into a movie theatre and not feel overwhelmed by how huge and commercial it was? I remember waiting in line at our old movie theatres in my old home town. Our two theatres were built pre-1960. The Stamm was built in the 50's and the El Campinel was built in the early 1930's. These were truly vintage theatres. We had one newer theatre called the Metro 4 which was probably installed in the late 1960's or 1970's. We often went to the Campinel and Stamm because they were so unique. The carpet was old fashioned, it had old chandeliers, ornate painted ceilings and red velvety chairs. It also had stadium seating, which seemed to have been a lost form after the 1940's and 50's. I won't forget getting our tickets and them being just those standard tickets that you see nowadays (such as raffle looking tickets). I remember the feeling of how a small theatre felt. One day, a huge theatre was built and it was known as Brenden 8. We thought that was SUCH a big deal! Plus, this was the first theatre in our area to have THX surround sound systems, so from going from the generic mono sounding Dolby to Lucasfilm THX was music to my ears. I had no idea what I had been missing. Now going to the older theatres seemed so passe. We were moving on. And our town was getting bigger with it. The Brenden was eventually added onto and now can house 16 theatres! Well, now that these big theatres are a dime a dozen, guess what!? Hardly anyone is at the Brenden anymore. Believe it or not, this theatre may fall like the other classics did. (the last time I saw a movie at the Stamm was in 1993, it was closed shortly after; the Metro 4 is now just a large Hollywood Video store; the El Campinel is a stage theatre for theatre troupes and recording artists). I will miss those old fashioned days, but maybe someday the Stamm will shine bright again.

It's very well written  :)

Hello, AmIRighters. I'm Dumb Ass Kid and i'm from the UK (it's not as bad as you think, honest!). I've been submitting parodies to the site for about 2 weeks, but i've only just set up an account with the messageboard. I'm a bit stuck for what to say at the moment (don't worry - it won't last long!!!), so this is just my little way of introducing myself and saying hello!
So...er...hello!

I distinctly recall one of Jamminoldies' (Howard's) first post being about toasting cellphones.  I never tried it because I didn't want to risk breaking my toaster.

Gotta stick with the Alyssa/Apricot thread and Ghey/Gay argument.

There was another funny one (not sure if it had something to do with/led to the gay/ghey argument but seemed to be from about the same time) where Bobby and Paul and others ended up in an argument over scooby snacks or something like that...

and when Beth spent the night with poop pants...

and the April Fools day where we took over each others identities... and Erin posed as the infamous Robin. :)

Weren't you here for that??

Well for awhile Beth was possessed by about 126,422 guests... and they would follow her wherever she would go... so if she was viewing "I like to move it in MC Hammer's pants", all those guests were too... and if she went into the chatroom, so did all the guests.... there would be so many guests in the chatroom that it would mess up all our screens... well when that problem finally got fixed, Beth was in the chatroom along with one guest named Poop Pants... and when I got up and signed on the next morning, Beth and Poop Pants were still in the chatroom together... :o

Yeah, technically halfway (since my dad is but my mom isn't). I'm proud of my heritage, but we've been pretty much secular in terms of celebrating it. Like, my dad's side of the family (who are more into it) go to Synagogue and such. I was never Bar Mitzfahed, although we did Chanukah one year. That was fun.

Same here. My dad is/was (well he claims to be an atheist who just joined the Society of Friends-Quakers. Try figuring that one out  ;) :D :D) and my mom is Episcopalian.  We celebrated both Hanukkah & Christmas, both Passover & Easter. People would come over and ask if us kids were confused. We weren't-everyone else was. We thought EVERYONE lit the candles on a menorah at the same time decorating a tree.  :D ;D ;D
