Subject: Story game

Written By: Rice_Cube on 07/22/06 at 3:20 pm

Please delete or move if it doesn't belong in this forum, but since this is for member writings, I thought it'd be fun :)  We used to do this a bit on the old Penguin Board Games (haven't seen one in this iteration, maybe I didn't look closely but I'm too lazy to search :P )

Anyway, rules:

1.  Each post may only contain 200 words or less.  (Not really strict, but don't make it too long :D )

2.  Characters can be introduced at whim, but must be included in subsequent posts as part of the story until such character is destroyed, dispatched, or otherwise sent off on a space quest to Neptune.  The original characters in the first story post may not be killed.

3.  The story can continue indefinitely until someone decides they've had enough and kills everyone off or just sends the characters to a happy ending.  It'd better be a good one though ;)

That's about it.  If nobody else wants to start it off, I'll fire off the initial post in...45 minutes.

Go!  :D

There once was a man named Rice Cube. He would post on inthe00s.com with Jessica, even while in the same room.

(It's about me now, eh?  ;)  We can work with that.)

Rice Cube had the power of invisibility, and along with Jessica, who was a crazy yenta broad, he would wreak havoc upon the land of the penguins with his unpredictable appearances in random conversations...

Until he stumbled upon a rather demented musician-type called Hawk, who worked a wicked spell summoning Cthulhu, even while trading good "Yo Mama" joke off-board (as the Hawk was kicked out by a nameless putz).....

Hawk thought that the putz' mama was so fat, she didn't have hemorrhoids, she had asteroids, but that was hardly useful in furthering the story...therefore, he offered to continue the random conversations in the only way he knew how--Pig Latin...

He could translate it perfectly.... "Too which he offered to stick a babelfish in Rice Cube's ear, so that he could understand what he was saying."

Through the marvel of babelfish, Rice Cube heard the amazing-yet-not-quite-legendary story of the time Hawk was in Paris, and Rice went back in time, so that he could tell Hawk the part of the story Hawk himself couldn't remember.....

Meanwhile in a darkened corner of some sleazy Parisian opium den, HawkTheSlayer languished in a comfortable chair enjoying the sights that befell him. He enjoyed the company of the colourful ladies of the night who frequented this establishment as he smoked on a huge cigar.

Rice Cube had been to Paris before, and thought that today might be a fine day to take Jessica and the spawnlets to the grand city to partake in the atmosphere.  It just so happened that these fine Penguins decided to enter the establishment in which Hawk was languishing...

The Hawk was sitting near the bar, with a few of his fellow performers, being introduced to Tequila Poppers and a French rock band called "Magma".
At that point, Rice & Jessica appeared with a beret, a bottle of Perrignon '86, and a large sandwich one generally finds in a Greek restaurant.....

The sandwich was really greasy, so Rice & Jessica had to use their disposable beret to leech all the excess fat off of it, lest they risk an imminent heart attack...

Hawk smiled as he welcomed the two new interlopers, and bade them join him at his table.
Their French guide- Willy- announced that there was a special song being played, in honor of the Hawk's birthday. Out of the shadows, there came a young blonde girl, named Zoe...

Rice Cube and Jessica, having lapsed into a land of drunken stupor, came to and welcomed Zoe into the foursome with Hawk, and they spoke of shoes and ships and sealing wax, and cabbages and kings...

Secretly, though, behind Hawk's smile, he knew it was coming to pass: His plans for total French domination were under way, as Rice Cube & Jessica were beginning to lapse into such ridiculous things as quoting "The Walrus & The Carpenter", and "Duelling Dr. Seusses"......

While listening intently to Rice and Jessica's rant, something caught Hawk's eye.  She was the most beautiful woman Hawk had ever seen. She danced her way to him, her hips moving as if they weren't attached. She caught hold of Hawk's shirt and pulled him up to her. She danced circles around him, making him drunk with her aroma and moves. She placed a single kiss on his cheek .....
