Mid-late 70's - Joel
Early 80's - Joel
1983-1984 - Tie, love both of their stuff equally around this time
1985-1988 - John
1989-1994 - Joel
1995-present - John
Overall could not actually choose one over the other.

I've seen them both in concert...and they're both prodigies, IMHO! 8)

They are both piano men and great performers.
I dont own a single solitary Joel cd yet I have seen him in concert 5 times (once with Elton).
I have seen Elton live several times since the 80s.
He actually played here last night in a stadium a street away from my place. I couldnt afford the tickets (credit card is still recovering from the Police concert!) so I strolled down and listed to him outside the stadium along with thousands of other people. We stood in the pouring rain ! Elton was as soaked as we were !
