Subject: Favorite Christmas albums?

These are mine

My family has had this for years, but I never knew until recently that it's so highly regarded. It deserves to be.

My family had this long before I became a Mariah Carey fan.

My husband has that Phil Spector CD also; it's one of my favorites. I also like Mitch Miller and Andy Williams' Christmas albums because my parents played them all the time when I was a kid.

Last year I bought Twisted Sister's: A Twisted Christmas and this year I bought Monster Ballads Christmas CD.

And there was UK one released in like 1984 called "Now - The Christmas Album" which I have on cassette.  I love it!

This one is a classic, and it still sells well every season. Its not Christmas season until I hear one of these songs from the album.

One of the few Christmas albums that I can listen to more than once without retching. 8)

I love Amy Grant's first two Christmas albums, "A Christmas Album" (1983) and "Home For Christmas" (1992).

John Valby's Herniated Jingle Balls and A Treasury of XXXmas Classics.

John Valby's been pounding on the whorehouse piano since the late 70s.  (Anyone remember the cheezy 80s teen comedy flick Losin' It?  The scene with the piano player with the endless litany of filthy "KNOCK KNOCK!" jokes?  Yeah, that whorehouse piano player.)

That beat-up Chevrolet in which a smelly Batman dashed through the snow will never look quite as beat-up again.

Shakin' Stevens released a Christmas album.  One of these days, I should pick up a copy.  He had 4 Christmas hits, and even though he had almost zero success over here, I still listen to them every Christmas :)

It's not a Christmas Album, per say, but it's the one with Snoopy vs The Red Baron on it.

Christmas hasn't begun until "Winter Wonderland / Sleigh Ride" by Dolly Parton gets played! This is the definitive version in my humble opinion. It's MAGIC!!!

I found this vintage Time-Life three LP set on ebay last year (from 1986 I think) called Treasury of Christmas, still sealed.  The records feature all the usual suspects; Nat King Cole, Perry Como, Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Judy Garland &etc...

It's not Christmas without the old classics and they sound best on vinyl.  We'll throw the records on the turntable, whip up some hot chocolate and decorate the tree...

Can't say that there are any albums per say that I really like but there are some songs that I really love:

A Soulin'-Peter, Paul, & Mary
The Christmas Song-Nat King Cole
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-Judy Garland
White Christmas-Bing Crosby
Father Christmas-The Kinks

Growing up, one of my favorites was the Chipmunks' Christmas album.  ;)

I do love Peter, Paul, & Mary's Christmas special they did on PBS a long, long time ago. I recorded it way back then and I watch/listen to it almost every year.

I forgot to add the songs

Christmas in Hollis ~ Run DMC
Sleigh Ride ~ TLC

and Little St Nick by the Beach Boys.... see I'm not all about rap.
