Subject: Icons of the decades

I am bored right now, so I have been watching clips on Youtube...of neato things from my past. I'm going to throw out a few and see if any of you remember any of these...feel free to add anything to the list.

Remember Bill Cosby's Picture Pages? I used to LOVE Mortimer Ichobod Marker...I wanted one of my own. Did any of you end up ordering these? Did they compare at all to the ones that he used on TV?

Here's a little trip down memory lane....

Here's another one...how about the Teeny Little Super Guy...from Seseme Street? I used to love when they showed that clip. It was a little guy who was on a plastic cup.

Enjoy!

And...who can forget the Crest Toothpaste Cavity Creeps, who attacked the town of Toothopolis ("We make holes in teeth!")...but were fought off by the Crest Team. Gosh...I used to LOVE those commercials.

And what about the famous talking stick on Nickelodeon..in the 90's. Everybody has to remember good ol' Stick Stickley!!!

I'll add more as I think of them!!

I totally remember it and the song because we used to watch lots of Sesame Street with Julie when she was a wee lass.  I think we have several VHS videos and this is probably on it

I'd like to get those classic/retro Seseme Street volumes on DVD...that would be neat!

Y'know, I did the same thing to the Kool-Aid company, begging them to bring back the old Apple flavor.

........................Never did hear back from them...... :-\\

This reminds me...I think "fun", animated commercials with jingles and storylines died out after 1998ish. I guess it would be deemed too "cheesy" by the powers that be now. :(

Speaking of toothpaste, there was one I used to watch in the 80s called "The Toothbrush Family" that had this song to which I still remember the words ...

"Brush your teeth Round and round
Circles small Gums and all
A small soft toothbrush the round and round way
Will keep your gums healthy and stop tooth decay
So clean very carefully three times a day
Go round and round"

Ranks up there with the Smurfs' rendition of the song "You're A Pink Toothbrush, I'm A Blue Toothbrush".
