Subject: In Need of Some Help!

Written By: Roadgeek on 06/16/08 at 1:46 pm

I've done several Google searches, but I keep coming up empty.

I am looking for various radio commercials from the '80s and '90s for a special project I'm going to be working on. Does anyone know where I can find some?

Does it have to be radio only or can it be television too?  Do you want the commercial in print form or in audio form (such as a sample of the commercial)?  Any certain products that may be taboo (commercials you definately don't want)?  From what country are you primarily interested in the commercials from, US, United Kingdom, Australia or Canada?

Well, it has to be any radio commercials from the United States as long as it's not beer or cigarrettes.

They are television commercials, but they were probably also on radio too at the time.

NY and LA have an organization called the Paley Center for Media Studies.  They were formally known as the Museum of Television and Radio.  Don't know if you can get there but they have listening stations and an awesome archive library.

If you can't get there you might be able to contact them and see if they have any ideas about how to get this material.

Also what about local college radio stations they may have old tapes.

Good luck.
