Subject: Top of the Tops: Year by Year CDs

Written By: whistledog on 11/27/08 at 10:37 pm

BBC Music has recently released a 42 volume CD set of year by year compliations (1964 - 2006) featuring a collection of original songs by original artists who appeared on the legendary British show TOP OF THE POPS

The coolest thing about these CDs is that if you lay the album covers next to each other, it' turns into a big long street of stores, giving off the impression of walking from year to year.

To my knowledge, these aren't released in North America, but the local Sam the Record Man that I frequent carries alot of UK Import CDs and they have all 42 of them.  I picked up 1981, 1982 and 1983 8)

Hey Whistle, that IS cool ... how they've made it like that ... album cover/ long street ... side by side ..... CLEV-ER !

I would have been MUCH more interested ... if they'd made every program ... the visuals too .... available on DVD. Now.. THAT would have been 'mega-cool'  .... since some perfomances ... I'd love to see (even though we know they're all miming)  .. but not even available  on Youtube !    :(
