Subject: How do you prefer to watch you favorite shows?

Written By: Big Nasty on 01/02/09 at 10:04 pm

So I am curious as to just how much people like to watch their favorite shows live, and how do they prefer to watch them?

DVD.  I figure I'll probably want to own it anyway LOL  Plus, I work late hours and I never really get to see Prime Time TV anymore.  Even if I did, it's hard waiting for your favourite shows to come on.

As most of my favorite TV shows are pre-1996 I took DVD and broadcast TV, like Nick and TV Land...

I chose DVR and DVD.
Although there are a few shows that I watch as they are, and DVR at the same time. I know - it doesn't make much sense right? ;D

DVD. For one thing-there are NO commercials. Also, I bring the DVD into the bedroom and watch in bed (rather than HAVING to watch in the livingroom which I would have to do if we had a DVR)  I also do mind VCR either but we don't have a VCR hooked up in the bedroom anymore.

I chose "As they Air" and "Internet." I usually never get to them even when I tape them, so if I don't catch them live, then I probably will never get to them. This may be one reason why I limit the amount of shows I committ myself to, otherwise I'd never get things done. I will also try and catch them on youtube or on the network's website.

I like fast forwarding through the commercials too, but I haven't gotten a DVR yet. :-\\

Lately, I've been watching them as they air, because my TV's built-in VCR quit working last year. >:(

Most of the stuff I watch is on DVD. It's perpetually 1985 in my house. I'm always watching Miami Vice or The Facts of Life or Punky Brewster.

I am a dork.  ;D

And I'm still trying to hunt down Night Court on DVD! (I thought Judge Stone was cute.  :-[ )

DVR or as they air.  DVR FTW.  If I have to get up while watching something, I can just hit the pause button and then skip through the commercials.  8)

Wow I have been away for a month and this poll is actually closer than I thought it would be.  As a Soldier I watch most of mine on DVD for various reasons.
1. I get entire series bootleg in Iraq for like $40.00
2. When I go places like beautiful Fort Irwin, California there is no other option
3. Since I take some [retty long flight that is when I catch up on my series.
4. Soldiers have super crazy work schedules and DVD just makes it easier.

Now I am trying to transfer some of my favorite TV Series (Married With Children) onto my hard drive so I can travel lighter to Iraq.

DVD. Don't wanan see the adds (unless of course, it were actual adds from the 60's or 70's, that would make it fun to watch a couple of them)
