The Christian Right got in a twist about that one actually.  I remember reading a whole bunch of record reviews from Christian magazines for a paper I was doing in college.  A reviewer for "Christian Century" was only too happy to point out that Partridge couldn't pin any of those terrible things on God, after all, and shouldn't he have called the song "Dear Man"?
