Subject: If you had one CD with you..

Written By: ADH13 on 08/26/10 at 3:23 am

Ok, I won't do the cliche "desert island" thing...

Say you're being sent somewhere for a month.  There is no access to music where you're going.

You can bring a CD player, and one CD.

What would be on it?  (Roughly 20 songs, give or take a couple)

Mine would look something like this:

1. Time - Alan Parsons Project
2. Nowhere Girl - B Movie
3. Fanny Be Tender With My Love - Bee Gees
4. Still The Same - Bob Seger
5. Ever Fallen In Love - Buzzcocks
6. Love Is A Shield - Camouflage
7. This Is How It Feels - Carter USM
8. Viva La Vida - Coldplay
9. Modern Love - David Bowie
10. Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
11. Touch Of Grey - Grateful Dead
12. Just The Two Of Us - Grover Washington Jr
13. Steppin' Out - Joe Jackson
14. Fade To Black - Metallica
15. Your Wildest Dreams - Moody Blues
16. Souvenir - OMD
17. Harbor Lights - Platters
18. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
19. Tonight, Tonight - Smashing Pumpkins
20. 18 & Life - Skid Row

Not a good representation of my all-time favorites list... but more of what I'm into at the moment. :)

13 | Telegraph - OMD

17 | I Love Saturday - Erasure

Wow, these are the only two from your list that i know.  (Well, I know the MASH theme but not the MSP version)

Frank, your list is great!!  The Long and Winding Road is one of my top 2 songs of all time... but I've listened to it so many times that I'll get halfway through it before I realize it's playing now... that's happened with several of my favorites, so I had to give them a rest... :\'(

Max, I don't recognize anything on your list.  I'd at least hoped to see "Institutionalized" on there!  :D

You may also recognize 'Give it Up' by KC.  It was his last ever U.S. Top 40 hit just scraping the Top 20.  The original international release was with The Sunshine Band, but when his label wouldn't release it in North America, he released it himself as a solo artist  ...

I've been looking at this thread but I can't even begin to narrow it down...

My tastes are freakishly esoteric. Uh, but "Institutionalized" by the Suicidal Tendencies will be dear to me until I die...maybe after!

All I wanted was just a tax cut.  And they wouldn't give it to me.  JUST A TAX CUT!

But if we can't burn our own, I'll go with Front 242's Front by Front.

Haha, you're so weird.

"I'd smother my daughter in chocolate syrup and strap her on in bedddd."

John Cage's prepared piano pieces are really cool, too.
