Country music seems to get a bad rap (especially in the UK) though I am not too sure why. My grandad loved it and I think he passed that country love on to me. Hmmmm...Quite a few to choose from.

A classic...

I've noticed on eBay when I collect vinyl, country music is one of the cheapest genres to collect (though good luck reselling, most country music is really JUNK COLLECTIBLES). But what really gives country a bad rap is that it is probably the most CONSERVATIVE of all musical genres- even easy listening pop has evolved more over time. It's easy to tell if an Adult Contemporary song is from the '60s, '70s, '80s, '90s, or now, whereas country songs from the '50s don't sound much different from recent country music. There was once a time when stars like Shenadoah, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Steve Wariner, Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, the Texas Tornadoes, and Neal McCoy where quite popular, yet are now seen as "old junk", even if they are the same generation as rock's Grunge era and rap's Gangsta era. As a result, most country music has little replay value; you have to really look for the good stuff often.

Does Clint Black still record?  I'd nearly forgotten about him.
