Subject: Here Comes My Baby

Did anyone have a hit with Here Comes My Baby before The Tremeloes did it?

Specifically I'm looking for a version that came out in the late fifties?

Well, Perry Como had a song called "Here Comes My Baby (Back Again)", but I'm pretty sure The Tremeloes hit was an early Cat Stevens song he would have done about the same time.

Hi Karen...

JustPassingThrough's right about the Trems version being written by Cat Stevens...and it was written in 1967, so it can't be that version you mean if you say it's late fifties...

In fact, the only song I know around that time that bears a passing resemblance title-wise is the Drifters' (excellent) "There Goes My Baby" from 1959, but although this was a huge US hit, it stiffed completely in the UK...so I'm not sure if this is the one you're after either!

Sorry I can't be much more help...

O.K. its time to 'fess

I was asking for a late fifties version of this song because its on a Barbie video of my daughters where she travels back in time to 1959.  'Here Comes My Baby' is one of the songs Barbie and her band The Rockstars sing in this video.

It just struck me as odd because I was fairly sure it was a Sixties song which you have both agreed with.
