??? ???Does the term 'grunion hunting'mean anything to anyone here?The term was used in an episode of "Gidget",where the husband is coming on to a bunch of Gidget's friends.Cheers!

Didnt they used to call the time that they would all come into the beach a "Grunion run"?

Grunion are small fish. Each year, at a certain time, they wash up on the shores of SoCal to mate. This mating takes place for like 2 or 3 nights. People hit the beach when the grunion are washing up on shore (trying to mate, mind you) and grab them and throw them into buckets. I don't know what they do with them, they are too small to eat...

When you think about it, it is kinda sick...poor fishies!!!
