Subject: Does anyone remember the ABC Color show intro?

Written By: NASCARnut on 11/29/03 at 01:22 a.m.

I mentioned NBC's Peacock before, but later on,when ABC went COLO
R,they had an introduction for THEIR color shows, too! the first was just the moving colored rings with music and then the famous ABC logo. In 1963,when almost all ABC affiliates went all-color,they added an ANNOUNCER to the mix! It went like this-the rings moved onto the screen, the music built to a crescendo, and Mr.Announcer said'THIS IS AN ABC COLOR PRESENTATION!'and then the famous "ABC"logo was shown! It was way cool. Does anyone here remember it? Just curious.

I remember when ABC used to announce the next show (like Bewitched) in "living color." I was so excited about it but little did I realize that we weren't going to get it because we had a b/w t.v.  :(  We didn't get a color t.v. until the 70s.
