Subject: What decade of the 20th century do you think...?

Written By: Guest on 04/08/04 at 10:51 a.m.

Which decade of the 20th century do you think was the best for popular culture?  A lot of people would probably say the 60's or the 70's but I personally liked the 40's even though I did not actually live in that decade but it seems cool looking back on it.  I think the 1940s were cool pop culture wise for the old style radios and the Disney and Warner Bros. cartoons like Dumbo and Bugs Bunny, especially the ones with a war theme.  I also like the cars and the Pepsi-Cola bottles as well as classic movies like The Grapes Of Wrath and It's A Wonderful Life.  The fashions and music were cool in my opinion too with the Swing, big band era and the women with bopped hair, which I think looked kinda sexy for its time.  Besides the 40's my other favorite decades pop culture wise would have to be the 60's and 80's.  Which decade was your favorite?

I would say either 50s or 60s.

Even though I wasn't alive back then, I think American style (fashion and design) peaked in about 1966.
