I think it's a safe bet that if they recorded any songs between 1959 and 1965, and their first name is "Bobby," they're going to suck. Bobby Vee, Bobby Vinton, Bobby Goldsboro, and Bobby Rydell. Ugh!
I like Bobby Darin and the Bobby Fuller Four, though.

Last week on XM I heard a really bad song by Pat Boone from the mid-60's. It was called "Wish You Were Here," and the lyrics were from the point of view of a soldier in a foxhole in Vietnam, basically saying how "all you dammed hippies burning your draft cards and growing your hair long are a bunch of cowards and that you should be thankful that I'm out here fighting for your freedom..." Yes, Pat, I am eternally grateful to you for your courageous service to your country, and I admire you for having the guts to put your life at risk by bravely stepping into that recording studio. You know, we're really short on troops in Iraq right now, go on Pat, put your money where your mouth is. A**hole. >:( >:( >:(

I can't stand most of those 'death' records that came out in the 60's, like "Honey" or "Last Kiss" (didn't care for Pearl Jam's cover version either, although I may be in the minority on that one)

I love him, i love him, i love him, and where he goes I'll follow, i'll follow, i'll follow....
I'm gonna find my true love, my true love, my true love,...
that one gets annoying after a while.
I forgot what the name of that song and group was ...
If someone can help me, I'd appreciate it.

I am 15 years old, of course I'm a young lass!
But I'm one of those girls who like music from other generations.
I don't like this song. I think it's too bad for me. AND I DON'T SPEND MY TIME IN MOTORCYCLE CLUBS!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(
I JUST DON'T LIKE THAT SONG!!!! I'm more into Beatles, Beach Boys, Janis Joplin and 60's rock and roll in Spanish (obviously from the 60's)
I don't think "surf rock" is bad (it is for woops), Yellow Submarine and Obladi Oblada are classics for me, and I haven't listened to Elvis in the 60's.

These are more cheesy than the worst:
Johnny Angel - Shelley Fabares
Three Coins In The Fountain - Four Aces/Frank Sinatra (too schmaltzy)
Moonlight Bay - Doris Day
Tammy - Debbie Reynolds
Ballad Of The Green Berets
Little Things Mean A Lot - Kitty Kallen (ugh)
Teen Angel - Mark Dinning
I Can't Get Next To You - Temptations
Dance To The Music - Sly And The Family Stone
Toys - A Lover's Concerto
Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter - Herman's Hermits
Ferry Cross The Mersey - Gerry And The Pacemakers
Have I The Right - Honeycombs
Jean - Oliver
There were lots of corny songs in the early '60s.

Lucky we're seperated by a computer screen and about ten thousand miles of ocean...or else I'd have shot you on the spot (just kidding :))
Not liking 'Like A Rolling Stone' should be punishable by having to listen to a marathon of Bobby Vee, Barry Manilow and the like...then you'll really know what suffering is!

I just think the song is overrated and nothing brilliant , in my opinion, even though I know a lot of people think differently. Dylan is just one of those either you hate him or love him people.... I never was much of a fan of Dylan's. I was more into Donovan.

It was The Beatles that set a new trend in song writing, it was they that performed their own songs where before it was the writer then perfomer partnership.

Some of my least favorite songs from the '60's & '50's:
Anything from The Beach Boys (except "Good Viberations) & Jan & Dean
"Hooray For Hazel" (don't know artist & also don't care for the tv show)
"These Boots Are Made For Walking" Nancy Sinatra
"White Rabbit" Jefferson Airplane
"Mr. Sandman" & "Lollipop" The Chordettes
"Dingaling" Chuck Berry
Anything from Leslie Gore
Anything from Sonny & Cher
The song about Atlantis from Donovan
"Tip Toe Through The Tulips" Tiny Tim
"Splish Splash" Bobby Darin
"To Sir With Love" Lulu
Well, Lesley Gore was particularly damnable. I hated most of the music of my youth. The 60s sucked, musically, except for Simon & Garfunkel.
Oh some of it was OK, but largely a period of my life I just want to forget. Some of the British Invasion stuff was actually pretty good, and "Whiter Shade of Pale" was a standout, but other than a few good songs from the Stones, Beatles, Animals and a few other British Invasion acts, I really think 60s music was wretched, especially the American acts.

Made popular again with the movie Ghost in the early 1990s.

i can't believe somebody listed "house of the rising sun". i LOVE that song!
Here's my list:
"Running Bear"---Johnny Preston
"Big Girls Don't Cry"---Four Seasons (yet it's so bad that it's almost funny)
"Sherry"---Four Seasons (probably worse than the above because it's just lame)
"Wishing and Hoping"---Dusty Springfield ("do the things he likes to do...raise you're hair just for him...")
"Tip Toe Through the Tulips"----Tiny Tim
"Judy's Turn to Cry"---Leslie Gore (the lyrics are lame and i hate sequel songs)
