Subject: Bobby Darin

Anyone else listen to Bobby Darin? I'm listening to "Dream Lover" right at this moment. Too bad he passed away.

Left us way too early...(sobering thought - he died at exactly the age I am now...) - but what a performer, sadly missed...

And although many have tried, his reading of 'Mack The Knife' is definitive...

Well, he was born May 14, 1936, so he'd be 68 if still alive. :\'( Elvis would be 70 this Saturday.

I'd say that if Bobby Darin and Elvis Presley if they were alive today they'd be doing the Las Vegas Casino Theaters.

Did you see Beyond the Sea? ....I think that was the name of it. Kevin Spacey played Bobby. OMG! He looked so much and sounded so much like him. The movie itself was a bit sappy, but the soundtrack was amazing. I bought it and listen to it all the time.  8)

Yes I saw the movie and Kevin Spacey did a great job with the part, maybe an Oscar nod for it.

A few weeks ago PBS put on a Bobby Darin concert show from the early 70's and I forgot how really talented he was until I start watching the show. He sang and danced, played instruments interacted with the audience non-stop for about 2 hours or so, he was Fantastic! you don't really know what were missing in someone until they're gone. I felt more sorry for his loss after that TV special then when he first passed away...I guess because there is no one else like him today that replaced his kind of showmanship talent...Wayne Newton comes close but falls way short with his dance end of his act...Bobby Darin sorry to see you go.

That kid who played his younger self was terrific too.

If the film was factual he was very lucky to have lived as long as he did.  :\'(

I liked his song "Queen of the Hop" the best.  Dream Lover and Beyond the Sea were great songs too :)
