Written By: hot_wax on 10/04/05 at 11:03 pm

Hey guys! "The Four Seasons" made it to Broadway in a show called "Jersey Boys". It's a musical story on how they formed the group. I've been waiting for a show like this for the past 40 years, I wrote a lot about them in our past posts...my mentors and tormentors...they're baaaack!!

This is cool!! pull up http://www.jerseyboysbroadway.com and click on their rehearsal video, the group portraying them are really good...check it out, and maybe kick around some thoughts on the "Four Seasons"...

or I'll see you at the August Wilson Theatre, NYC, I'm buying tickets tomorrow. I'll get back to you on the show.

that's cool. I saw Frankie Valli a few months ago. he did  a great show with a new "four seasons" backup group. Sang all the hits, and thats alot. He still has it, tho his voice is no where near what it was in his prime.
I've been a fan since the early 60's.
maybe the show will hit the road and come out west. NYC is along way away from me, but I'd like to see it.

How ya' doin' schmartypantz, where did you see him in concert? he's been performing many years, we saw "The Four Seasons" in concert at Asbury Park NJ in 1964 when they were as big as the Beatles. They were great and Valli hit all his octives and high notes just like or better than on the albums. Even today, after all these years, when that certain blue mood hits me I pull out all their albums until the "What if's and what could have beens"  leave my head...hey! they started it!

Anyway! where was that Frankie Valli concert? I can't wait until I see "Jersey Boys" maybe they'll get out to your part of the country...I'll put in a good word in for you.  HW

PS...a tib bit...which floored me when I found this out while at the Baltustrol PGA Open, that my son-in-law and the son of the late Nick Massi of the Four Seasons are friends and used to hang around together. They ran into each other there, we talked, he's a singer/actor, he's a nice guy, I took a picture of them together...I swear that I'm haunted by this singing group...they were my mentors and tormentors back in the 60's now in 2005 the 2d generation has some involvement with my life...AAAAAAhh!

I Listen to them frequently.

"JERSEY BOYS"  WON THE TONY AWARD FOR THE BEST MUSICAL ON BROADWAY FOR 2006!

John Lloyd Young who plays Frankie Valli and Christian Hoff who plays Tommy Devito won Tony Awards for best acting and singing in a new musical.

"Jersey Boys" was that good and deserving of all their awards. We're going back to see them again this fall. I hope everyone gets to see it, if not on Broadway, see it when they make a movie of it...they will.

In my saga with the Four Seasons and my life, I've resently found out that Dodies brother has some kind of a connection to one of Frankie Valli's kids, I don't know for sure how or what it is? I can't track him down as of yet to get all the details but I will and I'll get back...it's always something with those "The Four Seasons" and my life, now even Dodies brother weaves his thread into the mix...AAAAAH!

again!!  "CONGRATULATIONS TO THE "JERSEY BOYS" FOR WINNING THE TONY AWARD FOR THE BEST SHOW ON BROADWAY."

Saw the Tony Awards last night and the cast performed "Just Too Good to be True" and "Who Love You Pretty Mama" and it was a real blast from the past.  Left myself a message to look for a Greatest Hits disc.

Hi schmartypantz, yes that would be a good thing, but like you said " with the same cast", it would be hard to find another actor who captures Frankie Valli's voice range like John Lloyd Young. Maybe a traveling show with the same cast will happen during the Broadway break which comes sometime soon, I'll try to find out and I'll let you know. HW

Enjoy it! then try to get all of their albums on disc there are many original songs on them that should be on the Greatest Hits album...listen to the cut "On Broadway Tonight" on volume 5 it's ironic that they took that non-rock song and sang it in 65' and 40 years later lived it's lyrics and won a Tony Award of it!...strange isn't it? they predicted their own future! To me, there was always something strange or mysterious about this group's choice of songs to record...it's my personal haunting.

Hi guys! June 25th my home town Union NJ gave "The Four Seasons" recognition for their legendary force on rock n' roll music over past 46 years and for the recent success in their Tony Award-winning for best muscical "Jersey Boys" that put Union on the map across America.

The town re-named the street where the Four Seasons bowling alley was located on before it was knocked down and replaced with a Costco Whoesale club store. West Chestnut Street was re-named Four Seasons Lane honoring the groups name and for memory of bowling alley that inspired the "Four Lovers" to change their name to the "The Four Seasons"

Un-fortunately due to other commitments, none of the group was present at the ceremony, but representing them were their daughters, Toni Valli, Darcel DeVito and Danielle Gaudio also attending was Bob Massi the son of the late Nick Massi. Due to my work and the the noon time ceremony I couldn't attend it either, but heard and read about it. There was a big turn out from fans all over the state enjoying the day. What was interesting to me, is that their daughters introduced and promoted a CD that they produced called "Jersey Babies". The CD is a collection of "The Four Seasons" songs arranged like baby lullabye's for babies, it sounds like a winner to me, I'm going to by it for my grandaughters and this way when they older they'll be already weaned for the real songs.

If you read any of my replies in the other Four Seasons posts, this singing group was my mentors and torments growing up in the sixties and the The Four Seasons Lane is another thread that weaves it's way into my life since now I'll see the street signs everyday because the street starts or ends a block away from home and have to pass by it, always reminding me...AAAAAHH!!

The songs are great, but the native New York language ruined it for me.
