Subject: Why are there no Janis Joplin DVDs?
Written By: Trimac20 on 10/27/05 at 11:14 pm
When I go anywhere that sells DVDs of videos I see walls of Hendrix, Jim Morrison but NOT A SINGLE DVD or VHS tape dedicated to Janis Joplin. There's the odd Big Brother and the Holding Compay, but it seems Janis was the forgotten one. To my knowledge there's one documentary, 'Janis; The Way she was' which I plan to buy online, but I haven't come across a DVD just on Janis. Are there any other Joplin fans out there who feel the same way?

I rented a dvd back in the summer, not totally on Janis though. It was called 'the fesival express' , it was footage of a train trip that bands took running east to west across Canada around 69 or 70, playing at venues along the way. Along with Janis was The Band, The Grateful Dead and a few others. It showed some concert footage and alot of partying on the train. :)
