Well, since you've left out the brilliant 1992 version by Gerard Joling & Tatjana*... ::)...I have to go for the Boys Town Gang. :)
* Gerard Joling: uber-gay, over-the-top has-been Dutch singer with lots of ageing admiring housewife fans, Tatjana (last name: Simic): has-been actress, wanna-be singer, best known for her boobies, calendars, and her role in the Dutch movies (yes, there's two sequels) and TV series Flodder (where she played Kees Flodder). Picture that. :o

Is it like a dance version or a pop ballad?
I have to go for the Boys Town Gang. :)
I too picked the Boys Town Gang. The disco beat made it sound great O0

When I think about this song I get a strange mix of Andy Williams at the beginning and then the Boys Town Gang version

Frankie Valli
Lauryn Hill had a great version hidden on her debut album.

Agreed, plus his version has one of the greatest orchestral arrangements ever. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall inside the studio when that was recorded.

Gosh, I didn't know anyone other than Frankie Valli recorded it. I vote for him, hands down.

I voted for the Pet Shop Boys, mainly because nobody else did and they deserve some credit for that medley.

Funnily enough, I after I just heard this song while watching the 'Deer Hunter' and didn't know what it was called, I searched everywhere and returned to trusty old inthe00s.com it happened to be right in front of me(what's the chance?). If it wasn't for that I would still be searching for a song called, 'I love you baby.' You can thank those ppl who don't list songs by their correct title.
