Subject: English humorist who was on Ed Sullivan's and (I think) Dean Martin's shows

Written By: hodie on 06/19/06 at 5:04 pm

I am desperate here.

There was a dapper old Englishman. He was slender, white haired (I think he had a moustache) and sprightly, very charming.  He would perform a dance for the audience that I think was supposed to be an English country dance. He would nimbly bound across the stage as he danced. The dance lasted only about 30 seconds but he would do it several times in the act. Maybe a former music hall star?

I seem to remember he cracked Dean Martin up once when he was on that show. And I think he said he was from Kent.

My husband and I can still hum the song he danced to but neither of us can remember his name.

If you can help, please do!

Thanks!

Hodie
