Subject: Batman or Green Hornet.

Written By: Lindee on 12/01/07 at 7:00 pm

I have been watching both shows on The American Life Channel recently.

Which one is your favorite?

I pick The Green Hornet because he is better looking than Adam West

Well it would be the Green Hornet, first because its somewhat more "grittier" than Batman and less campy. Somehow the show seemed more "dark" than the Batman show did.

Secondly, you HAVE to give it to Green Hornet just because of Kato, Bruce Lee (compared to Robin/Burt Ward) kicks *ss, literally. 8)

It was said that on the one crossover Batman/Green Hornet episode where Kato and Robin were in a fight, that behind the scenes, Burt Ward was really afraid of getting hurt by Bruce Lee. But unfortunately the writers made it so their battle came to a draw, when you KNOW, Robin would've gotten his rear handed to him by Kato! ;)

I'm a Batman fan. Being a 10 year old kid and having the Batman series on tv was like my kids & her friends Power Rangers mania.  I loved it. I wrote fan letters. I remember getting a signed photo mailed to me. They had trading cards too. I remember when the Green Hornet came on, and they were cool also, but Bruce Wayne (Batman) and his youthful ward Dick Grayson (Robin) were the best in my opinion. They had the perfect set up. Millionaires in mansion, secret lair with all the high tech gadgetry. And of course all the regular villains and guest villains made for some fun entertainment. Now I will say I'm a big Bruce Lee fan and was in awe of his fighting abilties on the Green Hornet & when the GH & Kato met BM & Robin and they fought, well there's a lasting impression in my memory. Kato could have kicked Robin's ass but they did let Robin get some punches in.
omg  ;D I am laughing just looking at them

I pick Batman.

I rember being really really young 3-5 years old and watching Batman reruns on the TV in my living room. I used to have a crush on Robin (Burt Ward--is that his name). This was 1989-1991 and then I kind of figured out that he was like 30 years older than me and old enough to be my father! LOL!.

But still cool.  ;)

The Green Hornet scared me with the green lights on the car. LOL. I was silly as a kid!  ::)

I have to pick Batman,I would watch that all the time and liked the interesting aray of charactors (My fav-The Riddler)
The Green Hornet was more serious and when you are a kid 'campy' usually wins out.

The Green Hornet was not hardly shown in the UK back then and I never got to see the programmes, but Batman was shown.

Batman..

I know the Green Hornet series existed but I cant recall ever seeing it.  I watched Batman all the time. Batman and the Green Hornet were old college chums. As for the cars, both are pretty cool. I have them both as HO scale slotcars....
I would like to see a Green Hornet movie...
I have a photo of my son and I in one of the Batmobiles from a car show in Pittsburgh a few years ago.

Besides the deliberate "campy-ness" of Batman, another factor makes it my choice: Star Power.
Cesar Romero (The Joker), Burgess Meredith (The Penguin), Frank Gorshin (The Riddler), Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar ("Catwomen") all indicate that, and as I believe, the chips are on the side of Batman as far as "credibility" or quality of the program..............
Do a Google on each of these talented individuals, and you will (may?) agree...............

JMHO though!!! :-\\

I was a fan of both, for different reasons. Green Hornet wasn't campy, Batman was. But it's Batman, he wins. Now if it had be presented in the same vein as GH, it would have been way better. The Batmobile was way cooler than the Black Beauty, but Beauty still had it's own coolness going on. The one thing that really tipped the scales in Batman's favor? Batgirl! I've got a thing for redheads in tight leather ;)

That clip had me laughing, I love it.

Batman wins.  I always loved it when they were climbing buildings and people would pop out of the windows like they were standing on the walls. ;D

that always was hilarious when famous stars would pop out of a window in the building they happend to be climbing & I found a clip where the Dynamic Duo is climbing down a wall and a celebrity pops out of a window and talks to them and they stop and chat, while holding on to the ropes without any strain at all  ;D  so funny.  it's about halfway thru the clip which is over 7 minutes long and the audio dubbing is slightly off and another bonus is that this episoade starred "Chad and Jeremy" as themselves.

this episode stars Victor Buono as King Tut. ya gotta check out the Batusi (the dance Batman does) it's the goofiest dance since The PeeWee dance , and I wanna learn it so I can do it the next time Diane & I go out dancing.  ;D    oh yeah, listen to the technique Batman used to not allow himself to be put under Tut's spell.  "Thought you'd unhinged me, did you? I fooled you. I kept my reasons by reciting the multiplication tables backwards."  :o

The Green Hornet. Kato could kick the crap out of Batman and "the boy wonder" at the same time.

I'm old enough to remember when the Green Hornet was on RADIO, produced by WXYZ in Detroit MI. To the strains of "THe Flight of the Bumble Bee" the announcer, whose name I forget, intoned those immortal words which began

"He hunts the biggest of all game....."
