Rather like the 70s thread, a lot of these examples were 'butchered' for radio/single play (all bar the Hendrix example were!)

That said, the sixties did throw one or two 'unedited ramblers'...

'Hey Jude' - Beatles
'MacArthur Park' - Richard Harris (both broke the 7+ minute barrier)
'The Real Thing' - Russell Morris (a fine 6 and a half minuter in all its uncut glory, but only if you lived in Aus or the UK, in the US it was spread over two sides of a single!)

Tip of the hat to 'House Of The Rising Sun' - Animals and 'El Paso' - Marty Robbins...sailing over the 4+ minute mark prior to 1965 and becoming a big hit was no small acheivement (although I think 'HOTRS' was edited for the US...boo!)

Wasn't "Hey Jude" from The  Beatles long?

In 1969 The Allman Bros. recorded Mountain Jam. The song clocks in at  a little over 33 and a half minutes.
However {recorded in '69].....the song wasn't released until their Eat a Peach Double LP in 1972.

One that comes to mind for me is "Light My Fire" by the Doors (the full version), at just a shade over 7 minutes.

Bob Dylan's 'Like A Rolling Stone' clocked in at just over six minutes...

(The song was spread across both sides of the British promo single, but the version we got in the shops was untampered with...)

Honorary mention surely to The Beach Boys' "Here Comes the Night", which when originally released in 1968 was only 2:44, but some crazy person decided to pick up on the disco craze and make a megamix of 10:52 length in 1977. The UK single release measures 4:35.

Years ago a friend used to play The End at the end of his sixties psychedelic disco.  It was long enough to get everyone out of the room/clear glasses etc and start loading his kit into the van.

Epitaph has always been a favorite of mine though it is one of those albums that has to be enjoyed beginning to end.

Interesting title for an album. I haven't heard this before, I like it, very Pink Floydish. When I get more time
I will explore this band some more.

Si, si!  It means "God's penis"!

I'm not partial to Amon Duul II myself, but they're among the pantheon of prog rock favorites for prog rock hipsters.

A friend of mine turned me onto Emerson Lake & Palmer in 1974 and I've been a fan of progressive rock ever since
but I must say, I haven't heard of these guys until yesterday. I am pleasantly surprised and I owe you a another
karma for bringing them to my attention. That is why I love this site, you can get turned onto new music even if it
is 40 years old.

There will always be prog rock bands you haven't heard of, that's the fun thing about prog!

I don't know if "cover versions" are completely disqualified, but I can't help but think of Vanilla Fudge's version of "You Keep Me Hanging On" and the Isaac Hayes version of "By the Time I Get to Phoenix".

In the late '60s was the Velvet Underground's "Sister Ray" off the album "White Light/White Heat," a little over 17 minutes.
