Subject: Anyone into Baroque?

Written By: 00s_teen on 07/18/11 at 12:44 pm

Hi there! Out of all distant eras, what I find really amazing is the Baroque. I love the Baroque music and architecture.
One of the most popular instruments during that time was the harpsichord, the predecessor to the piano. Are there people like me that like the way the harpsichord sounds/looks? I really like its metallic sound. Sometimes I wish it wasn't replaced by the piano. I mean its sound is completely different, it should've stayed popular as a niche instrument. Sometimes the piano is too load for my ears, and I love the romantic sound of the harpsichord. I also love the over-the-top, but really cool architecture and furniture from the Baroque era.

You know what they say, if it not baroque, don't fix it.  :D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry couldn't resist.

Love the harpsichord. My father built one a long time ago and I basically grew up with it. I don't know what happened to it.

I love Bach.

BTW, that is my slideshow. (I took all those photos-and put together the slideshow). I used Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 In F Major, BWV 1047: Allegro.

When I put it together, I was debating between that one and this one:

You can see which one won out.  :D ;D ;D ;D
