What were their favorite games from those consoles

IMHO...

By the late 70's when these came out, most of us "boomers" were either finished with college or in college.  We had grown up without high tech stuff like video games, so it was mostly a curiosity.  They were expensive for the time, too.  I think a lot more interest came from early gen-Xers who would've been in elementary school thru early high school.  The "better off" ones (families, that is) could perhaps afford it.

Well the older boomers at the time who had started families saw them as good gifts for their children. Remember, most Boomers weren't nearly as savvy and preferred board games, while a few might play a little pinball since those machines were around.

I played Pac-Man but that wasn't up until the mid to late 80's when games were cheap.
