Subject: The British Invasion

The British Invasion was a wave of musical acts from the UK that swarmed the Top 40 charts in the US (and Canada) during the 1960s.  It was truly one of the greatest eras for music!

What are some of your favourite British songs of the 60s?

Pretty Flamingo by Manfred Mann
Released in 1966, it was a chart topper in the UK.  It made #29 in the US and #2 in Canada

Get Away by Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames
Released in 1966, it was a chart topper in both the UK and Canada, however, it only reached #70 in the US.  I love the horns in this song!

It is the same for me, with the added interest of I can remember hearing the songs on first release.
