When i was young and first hearing about him, i thought that Wendell Willkie had something to do with Shirley Temple's "Wee Willie Winkie" movie and since id been told that Temple's character had been changed into a girl character from the Rudyard Kipling story's boy, i thought that Wendell Willkie had been originally a girl. In my defence, i was 9 when i thought all this.
