I DKTOS, so I compared it to a set of lyrics on the 'net. Yeah, a lot of words were used from the orginal, but I don't think it qualifies as a plagiary.

I agree. There's not many parodies on the site that keep lines from the original, but that's ok. As long as the majority of the lines are rewritten.

ChuckyG, this parody by Josh Hefner:
http://www.amiright.com/parody/2000s/barenakedladies41.shtml
is a word-for-word plagiary of Mikey Squirrel's copywritten one (don't delete this one):

Fitu's pacing rarely is. It also makes no sense to me, but it's an improvement in that the parody is complete and not plagiarized.
Sadly, I find that the only reason I read Fitu's parodies anymore is to make sure they aren't plagiaries.

I know, but it's just not well paced. I've noticed that the guy has a rep for writing crummy parodies. ::)

Yes, quite true. However, I would use low votes for such pieces that IMHO have no real grounds to be deleted otherwise. This parody in question paces so horrifically that if Fitu listed TOS as "Yesterday" by the Beatles, or "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot, it wouldn't pace any worse than it does to "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Fitu has done what I thought was impossible: make me wish there were a 0 voting option in the pacing category. That said, if ChuckyG wipes it, I'm not going to lose any sleep.
Normally I'd be more sympathetic, but Kristof, Paul R. myself, and a few others have tried to help Fitu in the past; obviously those were wasted words. Not to mention Fitu is a 4-time plagiarist...

Yeah, there've been times when I wish there was a zero...I've come across really crappy stuff. I don't even comment on such things. :-\\

Maybe if we had to log in before we could vote, comment, or submit a parody, we could get rid of the flamers, one's jerks, and plagiarists. Has this been suggested before, and is it possible?

It has been suggested before, and it is possible. It wouldn't be likeable or workable though; even the 1s guys, plagiarists, jerks, spammers could register via e-mail or whatever. The only benefit to a log in (i.e., an account) would be the possibility of banning spammers. Given that roughly half of the current authors and most all of the casual commentors on AmiRight don't even have inthe00s.com accounts, I think going that route would seriously dampen the votes/comments we get now. IMHO, requiring log-ins, registrations, e-mail, etc. would kill off the parody portion of the website in short order.
The better way to deal with these undesireable but unavoidable aspects are:
1s guys: Don't pay 'em any mind, everyone gets 1s from time to time.
Plagiarists: Report the parody to ChuckyG as a plagiary. Stealing other's work only makes that author look bad anyway, why it's even done is beyond me.
Jerks: Bad comments can come with the territory of posting on the Internet. If the same person is continually a jerk (spamming, profanity, decade complaints), use the Report Inappropriate Comment link.
Spammers: Report the comments as spam. Spam is dealt with quickly here, and so far has remained under control. ChuckyG is constantly working on new ways to deal with spam that don't require log-ins, which would be bypassed by a dedicated spammer anyway.
BTW, welcome to the board!
