Subject: New design mockup - check it and let me know if it displays ok

Written By: ChuckyG on 04/23/07 at 9:49 pm

It should resemble the current design pretty closely... I never made the current design fully CSS driven, because I knew that last bit of code was going to be painful to figure out and implement (and boy is it ever, four hours to get to a mockup)

http://amiright.com/cssindex5.shtml

The info on the right hand side of the page is not in the same box as the rest of the middle of the page contents. Also, the stats at the bottom of the page are missing (it has problems I haven't figured out yet).

I'm not even sure how I'll implement it across the site even if it does work ok... still a little messy on the coding side of things.

I'm using Opera at the moment, and it looks like it does in IE and Firefox.  I'm asking for real feedback not immature humor

Well, I know you are still working on it, but I honestly didn't even know the right side existed before seeing this, so I like it although it will take some getting used to.

you must have a low resolution monitor or a small browser window or something right?  that stuff has always been there.

I may just scrap the current design entirely and do a whole new redesign.  Although I have to admit the current design looks like nothing else on the web at the moment.  Every web design site I check out, has a lot of the same types of sites, lots of white space, soft colors and rounded corners.  Very boring and bland.

Low resolution monitor, although that will hopefully change at the end of the summer.

The search function isn't working correctly on the main page or the mock-up.

http://www.amiright.com/parody/search/

I typed in "I'm evil", looking for an OS, and the page added a backslash before the apostrophe (i.e., "I\'m evil") rendering my search useless.

I don't use an anonymous proxy.

Making that work again would be most useful. Thanks

Not sure what the problem is.  I fixed the backslash (that's easy), but it still rejects strings with apostrophes...
