Subject: Smiley problem?

Written By: Elor on 01/14/17 at 4:56 pm

Is it just on my end or do the smileys not work anymore since they were changed a couple of days ago?
That's what the row of smileys in the editor window looks like on my end:

Does anyone else have that problem?

This was because of The Obama era has ended.

Use different emoticons (not from this website). I don't know how long will it take for Chucky to reset the emoticons, but I suggest boycotting the ones from InThe00s until further notice.

I learned from nally that the smilies are the Obama campaign logo from the time of his last election.

Yup.  I remember seeing them all over the place in 2008.

Not really. I don't think Trump would support the Obama logo in any way. But I guess Chucky (the guy who runs this site) wouldn't put it in, since a lot of political posters are either liberal or leaning left.

And the end of the era of democracy.

Ok, I can see that after the Obama smileys we needed the Trump ones too but seriously what's the point in having just a single smiley that doesn't even represent any emotion or gesture? Isn't the idea of smileys to give more of a hint of how we mean things we write? Plane writing can sometimes be misinterpreted and the smileys help showing whether we meant something sarcastic, ironic, cheerfully etc..  The current stuff just isn't helpful. The Obama thingies weren't and the Trump ones aren't either. Please switch back to normal soon. :(

If you hover your mouse over a smiley it tells you the name of it.

If I recall they will be displayed correctly when Chucky switches back to normal
