Subject: E-mail notification troubles?

Written By: XenaKat13 on 04/24/02 at 01:48 p.m.

I started out the day getting e-mail notification to my old (work) e-mail address.  I changed my e-mail address to my personal address, so my work box would not get filled up constantly.

Now, I'm getting notifications sent to both boxes.  Is this normal or a glitch?  It's not doubling up the notices, but rather splitting them. That is, some are going to one address and some to the other.

Also when I changed my e-mail address the new password the system sent me was exactly the same as the "new" password it sent me the first time I changed my e-mail address.  Shouldn't it be generating those randomly?

it's probably using the old email for the original posts you made with it, and using the new email for the new posts you've made with the new email address...

not sure if I can correct that or not

hmm.  I've tried "deleting" notification on older threads without success.

Not to worry, I'll just forward all e-mail from the messageboard from my work address to my personal one.

Odd...now newly created threads are being notified to my work e-mail address.  That's the address I registered as a member with.

Later on, I realized there would be too much mail coming, and I changed it to my personal address on Yahoo.

Chucky, I know you said you were not sure if it could be fixed.  I notice on my profile there is an option to "delete user".  If this gets too aggrivating, I may just do that, then re-register using my personal e-mail.  Will I be able to use the same screen-name if I do????

you're like way beyond my knowledge of how the emal notification works at this point.. I've never played with it much, I'm happy it works at all.. let me see if I can figure out how it functions.. make sure you tell me which email address it should all point to
