Subject: Post problem--double or none?

Written By: Zella on 05/05/02 at 09:30 p.m.

I was posting a "reply with quote" in PPP, and the post did not show (it should have been the first post of page 2, but there was no page 2). I refreshed the page--still no post. So I went back and posted again, and this time up popped page 2 with my post twice. I selected one of the two posts, hit modify and clicked "remove." Both posts disappeared. I left PPP,went back, and started the whole process over again, and the exact same thing happened. I could get two identical posts, or no post, but I could not get one.  >:(

Just looked at PPP again. It shows in the thread that I made the last post in that catagory, at 7:18 p.m., but there is NO POST THERE! Ghosties again? My post is lost in another dimension?

(Okay, now I'm going to crawl off into a corner and talk to myself some more....)  :-[

I'm having similar problems

Double posts - no posts - message numbers going up and down - messages going missing

One window says a topic has been updated at a certain time, but you go in and the last update was some hours before, even though I know there had been updates since, as I had seen them....

My problem is every time I use the "shift" key to print &, it comes out as 7. I guess I have to press harder. :-/

How old is your keyboard J.C.?  Or could it have something stuck in it?

I had a similar problem at work a few weeks ago.  Only It was the top row of letters I could not capitalize.  My supervisor helping me, we unplugged the keyboard and popped a few keys off.  We found quite a bit of dust clogging the works, as well as "paper crumbs".

We cleaned it out with several blasts of canned air, and the vacuum cleaner, and so far so good.

Another keyboard had to be trashed entirely because it was so old and worn.

The same as my computer, 4 months. I think I should get some canned air to spray in between my keys.  ;)

I'm constantly cleaning out my home keyboard, too, with all the cat hairs floating around.

Next time I get to an office supply store, I'm going to look into getting one of those plastic dust covers, too.
