Subject: Correct lyrics are incorrect

Elton John's "Rocket Man" misheard lyrics show about 10 different "correct lyrics" including:

Burnin' out his fuse up here alone

Why doesn't this site enforce a single "correct lyrics"?  Having incorrect correct lyrics makes a mockery of the entire site.

End Quote

The misheard lyrics are submitted by people all over the 'net, and of course there is bound to be more than one person submitting the same misheard lyric with incorrect "correct" lyrics.

I agree, if people are going to submit misheard lyrics, they should at least know the correct lyric too.  But the editors at amIright have way too many lyrics to process and therefore do not have time to look up the lyrics to every lyric they think might be incorrect.  But I'm sure the editor for misheard lyrics deletes entries with false information or at least changes the lyrics so it is correct, since they don't know all correct lyrics off the top of their head.

Hope this helped.

Well, no, it doesn't.  If that is the way the system works, instead of saying "Correct Lyrics" it should say something like "What I think are the correct lyrics:" or "Correct Lyrics Might Be:".

Okay...

I do believe on each page of the misheard lyrics there is a link to submit corrections.
