Subject: Parodies FAQ
Written By: Leo Jay on 05/08/04 at 4:17 am
Can't find any Parodies FAQ... Do they exist? I have some basic questions like:
Can I request to have a parody of mine deleted -- either because it's a duplicate, or because I've decided it sucks/is offensive?
How are the votes used? Are they? What's to stop someone from sabotaging your score with multiple poor votes?
What's to stop someone from posting a comment or parody in YOUR name?
And other basic rules, regulations, courtesies, stuff like that...

no FAQ... though someone talked about writing one...
I can answer those questions though, and if you have others, I'll answer them (or someone else will).
1) Yes you can request a parody to be removed for whatever reason (if you're the author). Anyone can request a duplicate to be removed.
2) Votes are no longer used for anything. They are strictly there for your own feedback on a parody. I tried using them for a top ten listing, but found people would try and sabotage parodies, or promote their own no matter what I did, so I got rid of it.
3) There is nothing to prevent someone from posting a parody or comment in your name. If you want to report it and say it wasn't yours, I can delete it for you.
4) Other information about what's proper in submitting a parody can be found on the submission rules page, which is linked on the submission form page. http://www.amiright.com/parody/submitting.shtml
like I said, any other questions, feel free to ask them, maybe an FAQ will get written at some point

Ok so, i've recently revised a couple of my songs, but just to be clear with the no changes rule I can't even add the revisions right, they'll have to stay the way they are regardless?

you can upload the new versions, and have the old ones removed, that's about it though
