Is it me, or are the boards very slow downloading pages at the moment?

I just moved over to Firefox, and it seems even slower on that.

it's not the server, I just checked it. It's the network feeding the server.
This is the hosting company, http://www.fastservers.net/ and that site is super slow at the moment. They might be under attack or something, I'm sure it will clear up in a little while.

I finally got to the hosting company's messageboard and saw this:
A rogue backhoe (aren't they all) severed a major fiber bundle very near the property of the TEAMNET datacenter facility that we so desperately rely upon.
it's the third time in four months this hosting facility has gotten hit like this. I had three datacenters with the company I could have picked, and it looks like I picked wrong... I'm guessing the people who dig holes in Iowa don't call dig safe before they start to dig.

In New England you can call Dig Safe and they can mark underground utilities. To many backyard cowboys decide to dig without calling and cause all kinds of mayhem

I was pretty certain that Dig Safe was national... but maybe it's like those commercials that used to air, where they'd say "Valid in 49 states, sorry Iowa"
either way, I got the impression from what they described, that they were in the process of turning on a new line with someone else to help insure this wouldn't happen anymore. Turns out it was supposed to be last night, and the company didn't turn it on. So perfect timing of bad events causes a perfect slow down.

yup, back to blazing speeds on my end, and that's saying something since I'm at work where the download speeds are usually painful
though nowhere near as painful as the IE 7 issue I just spent two hours tracking down.. ugh.

check the "page created" times, which should be at the very bottom of every page. If that's really long, it's the server. I haven't seen any slow downs myself today, so it might be you ISP.

Same here, a few hours back. The firefox ticker bar would go half way .... but never complete. Gave up for maybe half an hour or so ?
