What's up with that?

I assume you are referring to the arcade??  If so, it has been changed to accept only the players highest score. If you had multiple scores already...the next time you play will delete all your scores except the highest score. If you score higher than your presnt top score ..it will override that top score.

I believe this is a space saving measure and ensures there are not pages of the same user's scores. Also, the arcade now seems to load on one continous page with a scroll bar to the right hand side. This makes it easier to see who has what championships, how many etc.

yep, there was discussion about this in another thread. I was playing a certain game the other day and it only saved my best score.

As for games that I already have multiple scores on, I'm guessing if I play one of those games again and get a higher score, it'll obliterate all my previous scores and only save the best one?

A zero score would clear all your scores to your highest too.

A zero score would clear all your scores to your highest too.

That might apply on a game that has "backwards scoring."

^no you can play the game and get any score and from that point on It will just keep your highest.  I've been through 100's of games and getting 0 in some of them just so I can help clear it out and see if it helps load things faster.

I was playing cat bat and if I hit submit, the game resets.  It doesn't seem to automatically score.

Yes...I played  Bloody Pingu yesterday and I literally had 100's of scores on that game. After I played and saved ....I had only one score recorded.

Yep, I found out that it doesn't matter whether you beat your personal best score or not. All the scores saved prior disappear except for your best one. I played a few such games today and found that out.

I also noticed that while my multiple scores disappeared....the numbering didn't change. There were gaps where my scores were. I might go back and see if has corrected itself today.

I didn't see any gaps in the leaderboards of any of the games I played. Chances are that whatever you're talking about may have been fixed.

That's weird. I haven't seen that on any games yet. If it's still like that on Castle Defender (which I haven't played yet), then you could let the moderators know about this.

Does it still look like that now?

Yes, that was a snapshot a few minutes ago. It is the same with Bloody Pingu. I used to have 2nd & 3rd position (with guest being top). When they removed all guest scores I was 1st and 2nd position. I played yesterday and I now have top score ...but ther is no 2nd score there at all. It goes straight from 1 to 3.

I guess it shows up more if you have multiple scores.

I noticed that as well, but I think if everyone with multiple scores would submit a score on the game it would correct itself.
I am trying to do it, every time I play a game I make sure to submit just to erase the multiple scores. Now, if we could just
get everyone to do it.

Okay, now the scoring is bazaar. I was playing XpansionJS which has an automatic submit feature. My high score
was overwritten for a lower one yet it still has me placed higher than Jason. This is how it reads, including personal best:

Champion: wildcard - 2495
Personal best: 1890

1 wildcard December 07, 2007, 08:55:54 PM 2495
2 whistledog June 20, 2007, 05:19:07 PM 2175

If whistledog were to clear his score then it would be the correct scoring order.  We would only need the 11 to change to 3 and it probably would if 12 were gone.

My question wasn't with the numerical order. My question was, Why did it overwrite my high score for a lower score while
keeping my high score as personal best?

My score of 1890 was 3rd place, the game rewrote the 1890  for 1480 and dropped me to 11th but left the 1890
as a personal best.

Basically, I hold one position in the lineup, 11th, but have 2 scores in the game.

An easy fix for this should be to erase every score in every game :P

If that ever did happen, I probably would be one of the few who wouldn't mind because it would be fun to try and reclaim my original scores

I agree, I guess  :-\\

I went back and read through the post and I can't believe I was the one complaining. I never really cared about were I was placed
on the scoreboard because I have a core of games I enjoy playing, and for me, high score is well out of reach.

The problem is there are lots of people who are only members to play the arcades.  They probably never even look at this message board.

such as Katkit, hannahbanana13, and a few others.

I wouldn't be willing to sacrifice most of my scores, mostly since a good number of my top scores were achieved one time only, and I don't think I may be able to score that high on some of the games if I played them again. Not to mention that I seem to have "retired" from some of 'em.

What I found to be strange is that a few members, mostly the ones here just for the arcade, would submit every score
they've received regardless if they beat their previous score or not. Now that it is one submit per game they don't seem
to submit at all. Maybe they just like seeing their user names on the scoreboard a few hundred times.

I used to be able to 'track' hidden members who were playing in the arcade by ther latest scores in the 'Latest Scores' section. I could see exactly what games they were palying and try that game as my nrxt game. Now, it only shows what game they are playing if they beat their previous high score. I could be playing all day and no-one would know I was there ...unless I imprive my score.

BTW Kevin ....I had a devil of a time on the Flash Golf game chasing your score. ;D

BTW Kevin ....I had a devil of a time on the Flash Golf game chasing your score. ;D

Yeah, I doubt I'll get that one back, I'll try like the dickens though.

When I made my statement, I meant that I know some games that certain members like to play. those games are still riddled with
their scores, I don't think they stopped playing those games, I think they just stopped submitting.

I wonder if some of them just don't wish to play said games anymore...or if they just don't remember playing 'em. We'll probably never know. :-\\

As for me, I know there are several games I still have hundreds of scores on, but I don't have the time or energy at the moment to go play them and obliterate the scores. I do intend to do it at some point though.

Hey Tam......another backward scoring game is Full Time Killer. It should be the lowest score is the champion. Presently ninny is both lowest and highest...so it shouldn't affect the champion of the game if it's fixed. I can no longer get a lower score as I already deliberately got a really bad score previously!

Fixed.

I tried to play it and submit score - but of course the last guy always kills me, so instead I found a double score that ninny submitted and deleted it - all is perfect now! ;)

Okay, I just cleared a multitude of scores from Twin Sonice...and the high score leaderboard goes 1, 2, 24, 25... and there's a mulititude of "Guest" scores which would probably have to be manually deleted.

Fixed but the throng of guests posts are definitely going to take longer to get rid of because they will have to be individually removed.....

So I was right about that part.

The Guest scores arise when the person's account gets deleted, so "Guest" is how they show up.

Not to mention that there are still a multitude of "Guest" scores (from deleted members) and some gaps in the high score table on that game (TwinSonice).

Now there are gaps in the "Cherry Bomb" high score table (http://www.inthe00s.com/index.php?action=arcade;sa=highscore;game=280)

There are gaps in lots of games and with multiple gaps that will go down to one once they are cleared by the person who caused them.

I know that. If there was some way that it could just auto-adjust whenever a score or plethora of scores is cleared, then this wouldn't be a problem. Maybe I should hold off on reporting these things for awhile. Or only report one if a score is registered out of order from the rest.

Actually Jeff, what might help is if you send me a pm with links to the scoreboards of the ones that need to be taken care of. I don't check every single one, and so that way I can get right to them. ;)

Way over half the games here have gaps.  I recently went through every game I ever played here so I know.  I don't know if I want to go through them again and help with a gap list right now.  Need any other lists?

Last I looked, Twin Sonice is the longest looking, duplicate mess we have.  I'm sure there's gaps there.

Another game with huge gaps is Friends Paintball

Yep, there's plenty of them. It also includes lots of scores from deleted members (which show up as "Guest").

And Guest is something game players cant do anything about.  Think I'm gonna e-mail someone and see if it wouldn't be too hard to set me up to help delete that stuff.

Yep, only the mods have the power to remove those...by hand.
