... has to go to the Magnavox Odyssey from 1973.  Granted, back in that era, this was top technology, but if you watch how it's played, it's nothing more than white lights seen behind a sheet with pictures on it that you stick to your TV tube.

What is interesting is the demographic the Magnavox Odyssey was targeting - middle aged couples.  ;D

And that's the part that makes it even more hilarious.  Nowadays, you rarely see middle aged couples playing video games.

I'm not entirely sure whether it was the age, status or just the improbability of a couple playing a game like they did in the advert that made it funny. It looked like they were playing the game as a prim-and-proper romantic night in, lol.

Ya that was BEFORE the good stuff came out... (Atari started it all,then came the good arcade games in the early 80s)
