Subject: What's your favorite video gaming era?

Written By: muppethammer26 on 03/15/17 at 3:52 pm

The history of video games is divided into 8 generations. Each generation introduces new and interesting features, consoles become more powerful and many great games had came out throughout the 8 generations. We are currently in the 8th generation as of 2017.

Here are the video game eras/generations:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seventh_generation_of_video_game_consoles

Which one do you like the best and why?

The fourth and fifth generations were my favorites, since they had consoles like the Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, and the Nintendo 64. I used to like playing games on those consoles when I was 8 and 9.

I tend to be neutral on video game eras, but I have been playing video games from the 5th-8th gens and I think the newer games are as fun as the older games. Pretty much the only thing I don't like about video gaming is having to pay for the DLC in some games.

I also have been playing from 5th-8th (6th-8th really, only one year on 5th), and I don't have a favorite gen either. Some people say that games in general today are a lot worse when that's not the case at all, they're just different than the gen(s) they liked.

Yeah, of course. The 4th and 5th generation of video games were also great.

Fifth generation. I liked playing Crash Bandicoot, Pokemon Sapphire, an imported Game Boy Light I liked to play Pokemon Red on, and this weird game called Rez. For some reason, I used to think you were flying in space during Rez, and Eden was your actual body and you were playing as Eden. Then I thought Eden was a princess of some sort after making it to the boss rush in the final stage, and I have a drawing of 'Princess Eden' from like early 2003. FINALLY I saw the Toonami review and I realized you were playing as Swayzak (SARA said that you were a virus and brought up Swayzak and then he appeared) and Eden was the 'true being' at the core. I got a hold of the Rez manual afterwards and yeah, you're Swayzak, even the Wikipedia page refers to him BY NAME. Also, I learned that Trapped in Hyperspace was a promotion for Rez.

My Game Boy Advance could play Game Boy Color games and I beat Sabrina: The Animated Series: Zapped! in like one day.
