We played cricket in year 8 or year 9 at school, as part of the curriculum, but apart from that, I can honestly say i've never played it properly. The only matches i've watched were highlights on the TV

ICT: B (But I only took it for one year)
ENG: B

I like my hair when it's inbetween... I hate having it too short and I hate it when it's long because it sticks up a lot, so I like it medium-length (like in the second photo I posted - maybe a little longer)

Was it a good win by England last night?

The England v Macedonia match was alright. I only caught the last 20 minutes or so, but it was a pretty evenly-fought match. England were attacking, but couldn't break the macedonian defence, and the macedonians were attacking but couldn't get past our defence. I didn't see it, but Peter Crouch scored the only goal in the game. The final score was Eng 1 - 0 Mac, with England playing below par. So to answer the question, no, not really

I haven't! But i'd like to try one, just to see what it'd be like  ;D

Journalism (BA Honors).

The first year is basically an introduction to the course, and well be learning the history of journalism and its effect, as well as the basics needed (shorthand, and how to properly research, for example). In the second year you get to decide whether you want to study Paper journalism or magazine journalism, but i'm torn between which one to choose...  :-\\

They're crap. You borrow an amount, and it takes the rest of your life to pay it off. I know people who've had to take out loans just to pay their student loans off! I'm gonna try and avoid taking one out as much as I can. I hate being in debt (although admittedly, i've never really been in debt before), but I hate owing money to people

Also if you take out a student loan it is considered income (!) and then you can't get other benefits such as rent rebates and the like.

Not so much 'retired' (using that word makes me feel old  ;D ) as 'lost interest in writing'. They were fun for a while, but then writing them became like a chore, and the more I wrote the more I started to dislike doing it, so eventually I stopped. Found it! http://www.indigogroup.co.uk/durhamdialect/frame.html Here are some of the ones I hear commonly used:

Bairns - Mostly used by older people, it means young children or babies
Dee - means do, but only people with strong accents use it. It's mostly geordies who use this one
Div'nt - Means Don't, but again, this one's usually used by geordies
Fust - means first
Gan - means go
Hinney - Means 'friend', but more often used when speaking to a child. This is an older one, so most younger people don't use it. The 'h' is silent so it's pronounced 'Inny'
Lang - Means long
Mak - Make
Nowt - VERY commonly used by everone
Nee - Means 'none'
Reet - Quite common, but mostly associated with Geordies
Siven - Means seven
Tak - Take
Wad - Not as much used now, but it does come up once or twice
Wee - Who... another one that's dying out
Winnot - Will not. Quite common
Ye - Old people say 'Ye'... the younger use the pronunciation 'Yer'

Some common ones that i'm surprised aren't there are:
Ow - Can mean 'Alright' as in 'Alright, mate', but it's most often used as a means of getting someone's attention. I hear it a lot in the shop I work at "Ow, mate... how much are these?"
Canny - 'Pretty' as in 'It's canny cold tonight'
Aye - Probablies the commonest phrase you'll find. Means yes. Also, you'll often hear people say 'Why-Aye' which usually means 'Of course'
Garna - Going to
Kna - Know as in "I kna" (I know). 'I' is usually pronounced 'Ah'
Iz - Me... another extremely common phrase
Giz - Give me
Dinnot - Means don't. Again, another pretty common phrase

These are the phrases I come across every day, but to pretty much everyone else on here, I may as well have listed them in Japanese  ;D
