Subject: Classic, Elegant Turn of the (LAST) Century Names

Written By: apollonia1986 on 09/30/09 at 2:37 pm

Hi Everyone!

I wasn't sure to post this in the Ask Me forum or the Pre-1970s one. You see, I'm starting work on a new novel that will be set in the late Victorian era (shortly before 1900) and I need the name for two female characters. Both girls are 18. One is a Black Creole girl and the other girl is Half Mexican and Half Portugese. I've been tearing up the net looking for names, but I haven't found anything really good and sold.

If anyone has any name ideas, please post them! Thank you!

My father was Creole.  Some old female names in his family were

Alexine, Olita, Athalie, Dominique, Philomene, Celestine, Leosine

If you need some last names we have...

Bonnemaison, Boudreaux,  Lafayette, LeMire

Hey Danoota!

Thanks for the names! I adore the name Dominique. (would you beleive my middle name is actually Monique? LOL)

I hadn't thought about a French-Creole last name. The ones you suggested are nice. One of my friends is actually a Boudreaux! LOL!  :)

Thank you so much!
