How did Ska originate?


There's plenty of theories, but the most plausible is that it's a corruption of American RnB (very popular in the West Indies back in the day) mixed in with traditional West Indian calypso...

'Ska' is supposedly the sound that the rhythm guitar made, although there's 1,001 other explanations to that as well!
