What do you think is the meaning of life?

And will you ask a question on my thread?  ;)

What are you doing here on this thread? You are buying a loaf of bread.

That will be £1.55 please...  :)

Okay, double duty...

For me personally, the meaning of life is to be content, happy and a useful member of society (even though the latter doesn't have to be a necessity I guess). If we are at least the first two things we've got it made.

Failing that, do what my old mate Prince says...

Yes I will ask you a question but it will have to be later as I have to go to work. Thank you for your question and I do hope I have answered it to your satisfaction.  :)

For me one day is too short a time to visit the U.S.

I have always wanted to go to the USA and Canada, Howard, but life gets in the way. I would love to do a road trip once I get my driving licence. That would be so great, I'd love to take you along with me if I could ever make it happen.  8)

That's another factor, I would need at least two weeks off work next to each other for it to be worth it to get used to the time-zone difference. I have to book holiday from work 12 months in advance.

However, making obstacles for ourselves in life is not the attitude to take. One day folks, one day...  :)

Hiya warped. I'm from 'little ol' England' in the UK. Home of The Queen, William Shakespeare, Sir Winston Churchill and most of Europe.  ;D

Ah, and all along I thought you were from America, like most of the others here.

What's your favorite type of music?

Haha, probably The Ultimate Warrior avatar misleads a bit. At least he's a bloke. I find it difficult when male members here put women in their avatars. If it wasn't for the gender symbol above I would end up saying something I shouldn't. *sings* "Dude looks like a laaaaaaay-deh!"

There are a couple more English here on the boards (Paul and Philip Eno).

What's your favorite type of music?

I love lots of different music from the 1950s - 1990s. My main love is 1980s music but I can go back further than that because I used to listen to my dad's stuff on his record player.  :)

I do like some modern music but don't listen to it all the time. :)

Would you like a receipt with that, wildcard?

I'm not joking, shops here in the UK have started asking that now...

Haha, well done for doing your part to save the rainforests. Karma for being a virtual environmentalist.

Ah! A Monty Python reference! A swallow needs to beat it's wings 43 times every second, right?  ;)

We have polled the studio audience and have come up with the most popular answers:

95% of the people say no
5% of the people aren't sure

(Margin of error for this poll is  +/-5%)

I can understand that. Likewise, I've always wanted to travel to parts of the world outside of North America, but I'll need to save up lots of money to do that.

And if you do someday travel to the U.S., are there any specific places that you would like to see?

Do you want to know 1985's prices or the present rate of inflation?

Back in 1985, they cost £2.50 from Argos. At the current rate of inflation they now cost...£2.60 from Argos.

Let me try, with some dignity to answer Howard with....ngnggngngngngnggngnnnnggggggg...some graciousness...

*breathes deeply and composes himself*

Howard...No...I haven't eaten in a...New York restaurant.

That's right. It's something you've got to organise for and there's too much going on at the moment.

I would like to go anywhere really, Jeff. California, Florida and New York are obvious choices but I would also like to go to Hawaii, Texas and The Carolinas.

I think every state would hold it's own unique experiences.  8)

There is a place I have been to recently called 'The Harvester'. The service is great, free salad before your meal and I heartily recommend the 1000-odd calorie Ultimate Grill.  8)

That's why certain trips have to be planned well in advance.

Great. I think you are right; they're all unique in their own regards. Heck, there are plenty of U.S. states that I've never visited, either...but would like to someday. :)

- Favourite musical: Calamity Jane with Doris Day and Howard Keel
- Least favourite pizza topping: I had a goat's cheese and spinach greek-type topping once. Yuck!
- Did I like horror story?: I did like it but I viewed the character of Michael as an ordinary person rather than Michael Jackson himself. I had trouble suspending my belief that far, lol.
- Best part?: I liked the way the Driscoll family were introduced and the attention to detail throughout the story.
- Favourite kind of hot dog: The usual kind I guess. Sausage in a roll, fried onions and tomato ketchup.
- If I could be in any music video/why: Haha, good question. For some reason, I would love to be in the 'I wanna dance with somebody (who loves me)' by Whitney Houston video. It's just so over-the-top colourful and looks really fun.

(Don't forget to leave me some questions too!  ;)  )

I will give it a go, Tiffeny. It's difficult not repeating other people's questions. :)
