This isn't confined to just "Southern rock bands" such as Lynrd Skynrd or the Marshall Tucker Band, but any song that has the southern rock sound.

I was just making sure. ::) One time I got scolded on another thread by an ex-member for mentioning a certain song by a certain band, and he said that that band (i'm not sure which one) was NOT rock.

Hootie and the Blowfish is not rock.  But c'mon, it was the 1st state to secede from the Union!  I think that's a big enough clue.
