Subject: Refreshing Penguin Board Games

Written By: Tam on 03/23/09 at 6:27 pm

In an attempt to ease congestion on the server, we have decided to ask you to start new game threads. What this means is, we are locking some of the older threads, and we ask that you go ahead and start the same game in a new thread.

Right now, we are looking at locking ones over 300 pages, with the exception of great classics such as Baker's Dozen Game, link the songs etc.

Feel free to start any of the ones that you now see locked, or start brand new ones! 8)

We appreciate your participation in our effort.

Tam 8)

Thank you all so much for starting the new threads!
I just didn't want them all started by me! 8)

I hear you Philip!
And I thank you very much. ;)

However, you can create a duplicate game, of one that has been locked of course. 8)

I know Marian!
But grab a classic that hasn't been restarted and give it a go! ;)

I've already restarted some of the other classics, such as TV Shows A-Z ish, I have to..., and 90s ABC List. More to come.

I had just realized that two of the other classic threads: Chain of Proper Names and Chain of Last Names, had not yet been restarted, so I restarted both of them just now. Enjoy!

Yep...and they'd gone a whole month without any activity!

Can you see any more?

Can you see any more?

Maybe, maybe not. I'm going to see about making a list of those which have been locked and restarted. One of the threads I'm NOT going to bother with restarting, is the "A to Zish ANY kind of music thread", which was basically the same as Song Titles A to Z(ish).

"Movie Titles A-Z" has been locked, so I have restarted that one.

Hey Tam, the "80s ABC List" thread has also exceeded 300 pages, so would you mind locking that one too?

I see that that one has finally been locked...but wildcard has started a new version of it ("Questions Only") in the PPP.

Wait, there was another new thread started in PPP?

Like I said above, the old thread was locked because it exceeded 300 pages, which Tam already mentioned before locking it.

Questions Only

That's the thread in PPP that I was talking about! I was asking if there was also one in P.B.G. that had been restarted (which wasn't locked), but it appears there hasn't.

Not one here, that there is the restart.

Refreshing again everyone!

Baker's Dozen game has been restarted, however I saved an earlier post of FussBudget's so it still appears that he created it. ;)

Working on other threads all over the place too! 8)

I notice some of the games have peaked over 600 pages! :o :)

I am, but the other do need to be consulted first.

I am, but the other do need to be consulted first.

I have been contemplating this issue for the past few months... yes, some of the threads which were restarted four years ago have ballooned in amount of replies (including Link/Chain the Celebrities, Bands/Artists A-Z ish, Keep one/Drop one (which is now in its 3rd incarnation), to name a few), but again, so have some of the threads which are still in their first incarnations (such as Three Word Song Titles, 1960's songs A-Z ish). That said, I have not reached a decision as to which threads (lengthwise) we should lock and restart yet. I'll give this another couple days and hope to reach a decision by the weekend.

Keep one drop one is just a huge collection of words that doesn't even say anything.  Wouldn't hurt a thing to start fresh.

Sure. However, we do have some threads in this section that have been untouched for several months (sometimes years or more).

I see  that is true, and I looked at some of them and hard to have interest in all games....I have my preferences no matter how many games out there....
