I went to 'edit profile'

I clicked on 'forum profile settings'

I checked the circle for 'I will upload my own picture'

I clicked 'browse'

I selected a picture on my PC and pressed 'open'

The path for the picture showed in the box

I clicked 'change profile'

The 'forum profile settings' comes back up with nothing showing in the "I will upload my own picture' box

I clicked browse again

I reloaded the picture

The path showed in the box

I clicked 'change profile'

The 'forum profile settings' comes back up, with nothing showing in the 'I will upload my own picture' box...

I tried six times and it just goes over and over in the same circle, and I never get an avatar to show.

You have to have a pretty small avatar or I found it doesnt except it. I tried like 8 million. I finally got by on 100 x 35.

if the size is over 100 pixels height or width, it won't upload.

I will try and solve this issue tonight, since clearly there isn't a good rejection message (the software is beta after all, they can't have everything done right?).  There's an option to resize images automatically, but I have to do some work on the server before it allows it

ok... I take it back, I fixed it now.  Turns out that I had the module I needed installed already and didn't even know it.  So picture resizing is now on.

But, CG, the only one I can get to work is this 50x50 pic.  I tried a 115x115 from a site, a few larger ones from my site, even uploading....none, except this.

have you tried uploading it?  If you try a direct link to an image that's too large, it won't work.  If you upload it, it will automatically resize it for you.  If it's a bmp file, it won't work either.

I used my own picture of myself to use as an avatar. ;D
