I think one of my posts got hijacked. On page 5 of "People You Would Go Gay For" I put a picture of Susan Sarandon, now it is an advert for a domain registry :o

a lot of sites don't let you hotlink because of bandwidth issues, so they substitute the picture you're trying to lotlink to with an ad for their service. tripod and geocities do it, a lot of other sites do it too.

Sometimes they substitute the picture for something else. Countless times I've posted pictures, and they get replaced with gross things, like turds in a toilet or some guy blowing a fart out his butt. I mean a simple "do not hotlink our images" message would suffice ::) ;D

They do that when they have too many people hotlinking their images. They figure if they do something like that, you'll know better than to do it.
I guess they got you there,as long as they don't put porn in it's place.

Sometimes they do. I had one once, that was a picture of some guy's shlong, and in big text read "Don't steal my images you big dick" ;D

Can't you check the pics beforehand? Most of mine will at least warn you with that stuff.
The only way I know of checking them is if it says "not available" when you right click on them, but that just turns them into a red X.
