Apparently he's been battling cancer for a few years.

According to the news story I'd posted the link to only Tommy survives. I think the others died within the past couple of years.

Y'know one thing that sux on top of the fact for me is that I'm already bummed about it, but then people feel the need to interrupt me at our Thursday night gigs to tell me over and over and over. Like "hey, did'ja hear so-and-so died...you should play one of their songs." Ugh. We did play 2 Ramones songs last week: Blitzkrieg Bop and Sheena Is A Punk Rocker. I'll make sure to wear my biker leather and Converse tonight in Uncle Johnny's honor. Hey, Ho, Let's Go...

Why didn't I find out until last night when I was listening to Music Choice Classic Rock? All I got was "Music Choice remembers Johnny Ramone 1948-2004." That's a rip-off! :\'(
Johnny and the rest of the Ramones were very important to punk rock and msuic in general. Actually, the only survivng members are Tommy Ramone (Original drummer) and Marky Ramone (Better-known drummer).
And I was gonna post this thinking that his death just happened last night!

One of the papers in the U.K had a picture of the Ramones with the word 'dead' across the chest of the three that have died which I felt was uncalled for really.
