Subject: Former "Beatle" Eric Griffiths Has Died

Eric Griffiths, 64, a member of the schoolboy band that evolved into The Beatles, died January 29 in Edinburg, Scotland.
Griffiths played guitar in The Quarrymen, the first group formed by John Lennon and the band that brought him together with Paul McCartney.
Griffiths, Lennon, Pete Shotten and Rod Davis formed the band. Lennon later invited McCartney to join the group.
