I heard this on the radio today. I could have sworn he had already died.

I thought he would have died by now, too. But he did live a long, full life (91).

I have great memories of those commercials when I was a kid back in the 60s & 70s. He was an icon, that's for sure. :\'(

That's not what I mean, what I mean is I swear that I heard a story about him dying earlier this year. I guess I am just having a bad case of de ja vu (or however you spell it)

Lucky for us, Tony the Tiger was a man, um, animal of few words.  I'm sure Kelloggs has plenty of tapes of his voice saying "THEY'RE GRRREAT!!!".
At least we can still here is wonderful voice singing "You're a mean on Mr. Grinch" when we watch Christmas specials!!

I heard about it this morning. I never even knew who he was until now. He lived a long time.

Maybe you read that Mr. Ravenscroft had terminal cancer. I had several instances where I thought I heard certain celebs dying before their time (eg: George Benson, Johnny Brown, both still alive). You are not alone, Dagwood. ;)

You're probably right. Makes sense, anyway. Thanks. :)

I heard a rumor about George Benson, but I know Grover Washington, Jr., is gone....

He died quite some time ago in the 90s or 2000s. Not sure. :-\\

Yeah that is sort of a bummer, eh? I loved the cereal. He DID have a cool voice too. So convincing, yet so motivating. He was a cool voice! R.I.P. :-[
