He died yesterday. Godfather of reggae and ska. :\'(

I didn't hear the sad news. Yes, Dekker paved the way for Bob Marley and was a constant presence in the reggae/ska scene for four decades. Sometimes he was center stage, sometimes he was behind the scenes, but he was always working on one project or other. He died May 24, 2006, of a heart attack at his home in Surrey, England.

:o Wow. I hadn't heard about this yet. Dekker was true innovator in the music world.
